Renowned for his prophetic insights into technology’s evolution, Alexander Bard has been ahead of his time, predicting shifts like the AI revolution and its sweeping societal impact more than three decades before today’s digital age. Bard initially rose to international acclaim as a music producer, songwriter, and the creative force behind Army of Lovers, but his influence extends far beyond the music world. Alongside Jan Söderqvist, Bard has authored six books that delve into the intersection of technology, culture, and human behavior—from the groundbreaking The Netocrats (2000) to his latest work, Process and Event (2023), each translated widely and celebrated internationally.
As a philosopher unafraid to confront controversial issues, Bard has always championed free speech, boldly engaging with some of society’s most challenging topics. On stage, he is electrifying — fast-paced, charismatic, and known for both challenging and captivating audiences. With a core focus on humanity’s relationship with technology, Bard has accurately forecasted major shifts in the digital landscape and continues to offer groundbreaking perspectives. His profound knowledge of psychoanalysis and anthropology also allows him to dissect how technology reshapes interpersonal dynamics and human connection.
He’s now proposing a new paradigm, offering insights into what it takes to lead in the age of digital networks. This new paradigm combines a financial outlook with spiritual needs and offers a meta-narrative that makes sense of its profound effects on leadership. Alexander explores the collision between capitalism’s commercial motives and the spiritual aspects of attentionalism. He challenges his audiences to reflect on how these two seemingly opposed forces can or cannot coexist in the digital era, and the role AI plays in reshaping leadership and management practices.
A frequent speaker at elite business forums and spiritual retreats alike, Bard’s work bridges diverse worlds. Bard is currently active giving lectures at the Executive Education at the Stockholm School of Economics. He played a pivotal role in the “Swedish music export miracle” from the 1990s and made his mark as a judge on Idol and Sweden’s Got Talent. Now, he reaches global audiences through popular podcasts and online platforms, making his ideas more accessible than ever.

Along with Jan Söderqvist, Alexander wrote the Futurica Trilogy, which consists of the books The Netocrats, The Global Empire and The Body Machines. They have also written Syntheism – Creating God in the Internet Age and Digital Libido – Sex, Power and Violence in the Network Society. Their sixth book, Process and Event, rounds off a quarter of a century of systematic thinking and concludes the internationally acclaimed Narratology trilogy.
Among the highlights of Alexander’s successful music career are the acts Army of Lovers and BWO. He also founded the record label Stockholm Records, whose roster of artists – including The Cardigans and A-Teens – achieved number one hits in Europe, Asia and North America.
